Amanda Johnson thinks of herself as average woman. She works hard and pays her own way in this world, well she did until a certain cowboy decided to make her his. Cody Reese and his brothers Knox and Jace want a woman to be their wife. Cody saw his chance with Amanda and he intends to have her. She's spunky and spirited, but can she handle what Cody has in mind? Cody and his brothers have a list of what they want in the woman they choose to share the rest of their lives with. Knox isn't sure Amanda would make a good wife for the three of them, but Cody and Jace have a different opinion.
Amanda is no fool. She has had enough of men who treat her badly. She'd rather stay single than give a man a chance to break her heart and spirit. But Cody's such a charmer that he manages to bed her and bring her into his family life before Amanda realizes what that entails. Will she allow the Reese brothers into her heart and bed once she learns what they intend for her, or will she cut and run? Amanda has also become the focus of her Father's determined attempts on her life. Apparently she knows something that is worth killing for. Can the Reese brothers keep her alive or will she end up leaving them to save her life and theirs?
Jenny Penn is an amazing writer and Kansas Heat is definitely a hit. There's so much going on in this story of characters with a lot of heart and scorching hot sex to go with it. Each of the brothers has their own way of drawing Amanda into their lives, which made this an intoxicating read for me. I couldn't put the book down as I read of Amanda's struggle to keep her own life for herself even when all three Reese brothers are seducing her into their arms and their beds.
The way this story builds throughout the book kept me turning the pages. All three men were so dominant in personality and behavior, and I especially enjoyed Amanda's struggle to deny their attempts to control her. She is a strong, independent woman who knows her own mind. It makes for a scorching story of passion, sex, danger and ultimately love. It will make you read well into the night and never want to see the story come to an end. Don't miss out on a fantastic book. It's going on my favorite books shelf and I will definitely be reading Kansas Heat again.
